    Iris, who Claudia Haugh describes as being built like a tank, was one of four horses stolen from the Royal Ebony Stable in McHenry County.

    A nationwide hunt for horse thieves who stole four mares from the Royal Ebony Stable in Spring Grove is over.

    Claudia Hough, the stable's owner, said over the phone that all the horses had been found and appeared to be okay Saturday morning. At the time of the call, she was on her way to pick up the horses and unable to provide any additional details.

    Claudia Haugh, owner of Royal Ebony Stable in Spring Grove, says four of her youngest female horses were stolen from the Royal Ebony Stable in McHenry County. Early Friday morning, Haugh found a break in the fence to her horse pasture and tire tracks from a truck, leading away, which she believes was driven by the thieves. Haugh is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads her or police to them. (Published Monday, Feb 20, 2012)

    Hough reported the four horses missing on Friday morning after she woke up to find the horses missing. The four horses together were estimated to be worth over thousands of dollars.
