The Pacific white sided baby dolphin was jumping for joy over his new name announced Friday morning.

"Sagu," meaning joy, was announced as the winner of the contest to name the baby dolphin.

His mom, Piquet, nodded her approval enthusiatically over the decision when she saw the name.

Sagu was born on May 29, but the aqaurium was unsure about what to name the new calf and decided that Chicagoans should help make the decision.

The Shedd selected a list of potential names for the dolphin calf and asked for people to vote on their favorite names online. Voting was limited to one vote per IP address.

Of the 9,480 votes cast for the names, there were 3,909 votes for "Sagu" as the dolphin's new name.
