Naperville Makes List of “Best Places to Live in America”

Naperville ranked as no. 33 on the list

Naperville may have been named one of the snobbiest small cities in the nation, but it’s also one of the best places to live, according to a new report.

The city was named among the nation’s top small cities in a ranking by Money Magazine.

The list was based on data from 781 small cities with a population between 50,000 and 300,000. The criteria featured more than 50 factors including local economy, the housing market, schools and healthcare.

Reporters then visited the cities, looking for “a sense of community and other intangibles,” according to the magazine.

Naperville, which was ranked at no.33, is a regular on the magazine’s annual Best Places to Live list. Researchers cite highly rated schools, safe neighborhoods and a vibrant downtown, calling is “cosmopolitan.”

The biggest complaint from residents is traffic.

The top 10 cities on the list were:

1. McKinnney, Texas
2. Maple Grove, Minnesota
3. Carmel, Indiana
4. Castle Rock, Colorado
5. Kirkland, Washington
6. Columbia & Ellicott City, Maryland
7. Clarkstown, New York
8. Ames, Iowa
9. Rochester Hills, Michigan
10. Reston, Virginia
