A 58-year-old man was killed in a house fire in the Brainerd neighborhood on the Far South Side Saturday afternoon, officials said.

Chicago Fire Department officials are still investigating the cause of a fire the blazed through a home in the 9300 block South Union Avenue.

Leonard Bloomfield, 58, was found dead at the scene.

The flames were put out quickly, officials said, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
