A 74-year-old man was shot in the neck and left leg Tuesday afternoon in Chicago's Morgan Park neighborhood, police said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was in a car at about 1:30 p.m. in the 11200 block of South Throop Street when another car drove past and shot at his vehicle, according to Police News Affairs.

Residents in the area told NBC 5 the man was with a younger man in the car.

He was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in stable condition.
