A pier at the Port of Indiana collapsed Tuesday morning under the weight of off-loaded cargo.
The U.S. Coast Guard's Michigan City station told the Northwest Indiana Times the pier assigned to ArcelorMittal, a steel and mining company, cracked and collapsed around 5:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
A spokeswoman for the Marine Safety Unit of the U.S. Coast Guard in Chicago told the paper an investigation is ongoing and further details couldn't be released.
