Former Pippen Adviser Found Guilty of Bank Fraud

Pippen previously sued Lunn after the basketball star lost money in questionable investments

A financial adviser who once had former Chicago Bulls player Scottie Pippen as a client has been found guilty of bank fraud.

Robert Lunn was convicted of bank fraud Friday in U.S. District Court in Chicago. Lunn was accused of trying to defraud clients and Oak Brook, Illinois-based Leaders Bank of more than $3.2 million.

Pippen testified against Lunn, saying he received financial papers with his signature forged around the time the 64-year-old Lunn was his adviser.

Pippen previously sued Lunn after the basketball star lost money in questionable investments that included an airplane. Pippen won a nearly $12 million judgment against Lunn in 2004.

Each count of bank fraud that Lunn was convicted of carries a maximum 30-year prison term. Judge Charles Norgle set sentencing for Jan. 21.
