Elderly Couple Killed in I-355 Crash

    A fatal crash on I-355 caused Illinois State Police to close two lanes of the highway in McHenry County Saturday afternoon.

    An elderly couple was killed Saturday in a crash on northbound I-355 in Will County.

    The crash occurred at 3 p.m. Saturday at milepost 13.5 near Boughton Road when a silver Toyota Tundra struck a red Ford Taurus that was facing westbound in the northbound lanes, according to Illinois State Police.

    The driver and passenger of one vehicle, Daniel Simone, 87, and his 91-year-old wife Dimple Simone, were killed in the crash.

    The NBC 5 Chopper was above a crash in the Pullman neighborhood Friday morning.

    The driver of the other vehicle, Evan Collins, was transported to an area hospital. His condition was not known.

    The crash caused two northbound lanes of I-355 to be closed for nearly two hours.
