Des Plaines Police Kill Man at Strip Mall

Authorities investigate a shooting Sunday at a Des Plaines strip mall.

Authorities in suburban Chicago are investigating a police shooting at a Des Plaines strip mall that killed a 44-year-old man.

Police officials say Carlos Salgado of Des Plaines was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting Sunday.

Authorities say the officers involved in the shooting were treated at a hospital for unspecified injuries before being released Sunday night. Police are releasing few details about what happened.

The shooting is being investigated by the Des Plaines Police Department and officials with the Illinois State Police.
