Counseling Offered in Highland Park After NYE Rape

School offers counseling for kids affected by classmate's brutal assault in Logan Square

Administrators at Highland Park High School will have counselors on hand Tuesday for students still reeling from the New Year’s Eve assault of a fellow student.

An 18-year-old senior was found naked, brutally beaten and sexually assaulted around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood.

An employee at the Congress Theatre told the Sun-Times he saw the woman talking with a group of six young men after she’d been denied entry to a show at the theater because she didn’t have any identification.

Late Sunday, three men questioned in the attack were released without charges.

Chicago police are still searching for suspects in the case.
