Two Chicago areas have been named among the best neighborhoods in the nation based on affordability, walkability, and access to the best schools.
Real Estate firm Redfin analyzed 170 neighborhoods across the country to find ones that offer homes in both the expensive and affordable range to host a community with varied incomes. Redfin ranked the areas based on affordability, above-average ratings, a high Walk Score and top-notch GreatSchools ranking.
Researchers at Redfin found that only 24 areas in the country met the demands across all metrics, and two of them are in Chicago.
Fulton River District ranked no. 9 in the nation, according to Redfin, citing it as having a mixed balance of home prices and a 92 out of 100 walk score.
Dunning’s Schorsch Village rounded out the top 24, scoring high on affordability.
Both neighborhoods received a 5.2 GreatSchools rating, with the overall median on the list of top 24 being a 6.9.
