Man Robs Subway Sandwich Shop, Heads to Potbelly: Police

A Chicago man held up a North Side Subway sandwich shop and then took the cash to go across the street to Potbelly, police say.

Fredrick Warren, 43, was arrested after he was identified as the man who robbed a Subway restaurant in the 6400 block of N. Sheridan near Loyola's campus on April 26, according to police.

He had entered the sandwich shop with a knife and demanded cash just before 5 p.m., police say.

Authorities say they found him after the robbery at a nearby Potbelly, the targeted sandwich shop’s competitor.

Warren, of the 2300 block of E. 75th Street, has been charged with armed robbery.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
