Camera Captures Customer Who Stiffed Cabbie For $80

The cab's camera captured a clear photo of the suspect.

Orland Park police hope someone recognizes a taxi cab customer who bailed on an $80 fare prompting a chase that injured the driver.

The driver says he took the man to the 9800 block of Cordoba Court in the early morning hours of May 6 when the customer said he didn't have the money to pay.

The man ran away on foot with the cabbie close behind. Police say the driver fell and broke his ankle after a brief physical confrontation.

Police say the suspect is a white male, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-10 inches tall, around 180 pounds with short blond hair. Police say he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and carrying a black backpack, although the sweatshirt appears to be purple in the photo.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Orland Park Police Department at (708) 349-4111.
