Bryant, Arrieta Among Players Attending Cubs Convention

The Chicago Cubs will host their annual Cubs Convention next weekend at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, and on Friday the team revealed the players, coaches, and alumni that will be attending the event.

The list is of course loaded with all of the team’s big-wigs, including manager Joe Maddon, President Theo Epstein, and owner Tom Ricketts. The Cubs’ newest free agent acquisitions will be in the house as well, with Jason Heyward, Ben Zobrist, and John Lackey all making their first appearances as members of the team.

Fans will also get to see all of the team’s star players, with Kris Bryant, Jake Arrieta, Kyle Schwarber, and Anthony Rizzo all slated to be at the event.

Among the alumni who will be in attendance, there are plenty of names that fans will recognize. Hall of Famers Ryne Sandberg, Billy Williams, and Ferguson Jenkins will all be in Chicago for the event, as will standout players like Kerry Wood, Lee Smith, and Rick Sutcliffe.

The Convention, which is completely sold out, will kick off on January 15 with opening ceremonies, and will continue throughout the rest of the weekend. All panel information will be revealed when attendees arrive on Friday afternoon.
