Bride-to-Be Wins $250,000 Lottery Prize

Latisa Taylor won after matching all 12 numbers in the Feb. 3 Hit or Miss lottery

After hitting a $250,000 Illinois Lottery jackpot, a Chicago woman plans to use the money to get hitched.

Latisa Taylor, 44, won after matching all 12 numbers in the Feb. 3 Hit or Miss lottery, a statement from the Illinois Lottery said.

Two days after the drawing, Taylor and her fiancé were out getting pizza when they checked the numbers.

“When the cashier told us we won ‘two fifty’ we were excited to get our $250, but when he said he meant $250,000, we flew out the door leaving our pizza behind,” Taylor said in the statement.

Taylor said she plans on getting married this June and is “thrilled” they can now invite all 15 of their brothers and sisters.

The winning ticket was sold at G&F Produce at 7141 S. State St., which received $2,500, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
