A 22-year-old south suburban man who was arrested for severely beating and stabbing his mother Monday, then driving off after dumping her in a ditch, was ordered held without bond at a hearing on Saturday.
A Homewood man was denied bond Saturday on charges of allegedly beating and stabbing his mother Monday then dumping her in a ditch.
Blake Springsteen, 22, beat his 46-year-old mother in unincorporated Homewood, bound her, put her in the trunk of a car and drove her to the village of Crete where he stabbed her multiple times and left her in a ditch in the 900 block of Columbia Street.
Flossmoor police reportedly arrested Springsteen Thursday and he was ordered held without bond at a hearing at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Saturday.
Springsteen's mother remained hospitalized in stable condition as of Friday.
Springsteen is reportedly scheduled to appear in court March 12 for a preliminary hearing.
