Bears Considered Long Shots to Win 2017 Super Bowl

The Chicago Bears finished well out of the playoff hunt in the 2015 season, and Las Vegas oddsmakers aren’t exactly bullish on their chances of reversing their fortunes in the coming year.

According to three different sportsbooks, the Bears have 40-to-1 odds of winning Super Bowl 51. The team is one of the lowest-ranked teams in terms of their championship odds, finishing only ahead of teams like the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans.

If there is any good news to be gleaned from this news, it's this: if the Bears can add a playmaker or two in the draft and use some of their massive salary cap space to land a big-time free agent,

Numerous teams can claim the top spot in terms of the odds of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at NRG Stadium in Houston next season. According to the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas, the Seattle Seahawks, New England, and Pittsburgh Steelers all are listed as co-favorites at 8-to-1 odds.

According to Bovada, the Patriots and Seahawks are co-favorites at 9-to-1 odds, and the Carolina Panthers, who lost Super Bowl 50 on Sunday night, share those odds of winning their first championship in franchise history.

According to Westgate, the Bears’ biggest rivals could be in for a solid season next year, as the Green Bay Packers have 10-to-1 odds of winning the title, while Bovada puts their odds at 12-to-1.
