Addison Man Finds Winning Lottery Ticket in His Car

Giuseppe Anelli discovered the forgotten ticket in his car two months after the numbers were drawn

    Giuseppe Anelli won $1 million with his winning ticket.

    An Addison man is $1 million richer after finding a winning lottery ticket in his car.

    Giuseppe Anelli bought the ticket at the beginning of the summer for the 4th of July Millionaire Raffle but said he placed it in his glove compartment and completely forgot about it. The numbers were drawn on July 4.

    Fast forward to two weeks ago when he noticed the ticket while at a gas station. He went inside the store to scan it, and the machine told him to "file a claim."

    “I drove straight home to check the winning numbers on, and there was my ticket number – 0657488," he said. "I was shocked! I’ve never won anything before this!”

    One of the three winning Powerball tickets was purchased at the Acme in Little Egg Harbor Township. County officials tell us 16 workers at the Ocean County Vehicle Services Department, in Toms River,NJ, have one of the winning tickets. NBC10's Ted Greenberg reports.     Anelli said he and his wife will use the winnings to pay off their home. They also plan to save up for college tuition for their three children.
