They Walk to End Aids

Event kicks off Saturday Morning in Grant Park



    More than 7,000 people will be running through the city Saturday for AIDS Run & Walk Chicago

    The event  kicks off at 10:00 a.m.  in Grant and features both 5K and 10K options, on-site entertainment, prizes for top fundraisers and a Health and Fitness Village.

    The roster of performers includes Chicago Spirit Brigade, R&B artist Adam Emil, Windy City Cowboys, the 95th Street Band, Cerque Rivera Dance Theater and more.  A trip for two to Europe is also among the prizes.

    All proceeds benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and more than 70 local AIDS organizations. 

    AIDS Run & Walk Chicago was established in 2001 and since then has netted more than $3 million to battle the epidemic.
