Summer Shopping Fest Planned on Mag Mile

Attention shopaholics with a penchant for summer festivals.
The Greater North Michigan Avenue Association is gearing up to announce plans for a high-profile shopping festival, tentatively planned for the end of summer, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The proposed two-week event, called the Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival, not only will include Mag Mile retailers, but also restaurants and nearby hotels. With a budget of $500,000, the festival is slated to be one of the association's largest, running from Aug. 26 to Sept. 8.
The event is geared toward luxury shoppers and international tourists and aims to revive business late in the summer as students begin returning to school.
