7 Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway

Seven people were seriously injured in a rollover crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway Sunday afternoon, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The crash occurred around 2:25 p.m. in the inbound lanes of the Dan Ryan near 79th St, officials said.

Two vehicles were involved, and seven people were taken to area hospitals in serious condition, fire officials said. Authorities confirmed that three of the victims are children, who were taken to Comer Children's Hospital. Two victims were taken to Stroger Hospital and two to Advocate Christ Medical Center.

No further information on the victims' ages or identities was released.

The right inbound lane of the expressway was temporarily blocked at 85th St, and the ramp from 87th St to I-94 North was also briefly closed. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
