4 Injured in Rogers Park Drive-by Shooting

Four occupants of a van suffered minor injuries when several people in a sports-utility vehicle opened fire early Saturday in the North Side Rogers Park neighborhood.

A van was stopped at a stoplight in the 1500 block of West Morse Avenue at 12:55 a.m. when a sports-utility vehicle drove by and made a U-turn in front of the vehicle, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Several occupants of the SUV jumped out and opened fire on the van, Alfaro said. The driver of the van struck several parked vehicles while fleeing the scene.

The four occupants of the van, three females and one male, did not suffer gunshot wounds but were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.

No one was in custody Saturday morning and Area North detectives are investigating.
