Authorities Launch Arson Investigation for Deadly Fire on Chicago's South Side

Officials are investigating a deadly fire on Chicago's South Side early Saturday as arson, according to police. 

The fire occurred at a two-story home in the 5400 block of South Laflin in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, fire officials confirmed. 

Two people were killed and another taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The victims' identities have not yet been released.

The fire was struck out around 2 a.m. Saturday, fire officials said, and the Chicago Police Department’s Bomb and Arson Unit is investigating the fire.
