A 2 year-old boy died after being struck by a car Wednesday evening in Chicago’s South Side Marquette Park neighborhood.
Police say Jeremiah Griffin was hit on the 3000 block of West Columbus Avenue just after 5 p.m. Jeremiah was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he later died.
The boy's grandmother said the child ran out of the house and into the street before anyone could catch him.
The accident happened about two blocks from Jeremiah’s home on the 7900 block of South Kedzie. The driver stayed on the scene of the crash, and nobody else was injured.
