Two Chicago police officers were recovering Monday after their squad car was hit by another vehicle on the city’s Southwest Side.
Police say the officers near West 47th and South Whipple Streets with the emergency lights on after responding to a call in Chicago’s Brighton Park neighborhood when another driver smashed into the front end of their police cruiser.
Both officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The other driver involved in the crash was cited for failing to yield, police said.
