“The Little Couple's” Jen Arnold Has Cancer

Jen Arnold, star of TLC's "The Little Couple," has revealed she's undergoing treatment for cancer.

"I have recently been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer and am currently undergoing treatment, including surgery and chemotherapy," the 39-year-old neonatologist tells E! News.

The Houston-based doctor and her 38-year-old husband Bill Klein recently adopted their second child, 2-year-old daughter Zoe, from India. The couple is also parents to their 3-year-old son Will, whom they adopted from China.

Despite the unfortunate timing of the diagnosis, the pair is remaining optimistic, and Arnold tells E! News her prognosis is promising.

"I am very fortunate as the prognosis is good," she says. "While there is never a good time to get news like this, getting it just as we are building our new family is tough in many ways ... But being surrounded by the love of my husband and our two beautiful children is actually in many ways giving me the strength to fight it even stronger."

No futher details on Jen's diagnosis, or the specific type of cancer she's facing, have been released.

Arnold also shared her positive outlook on Twitter, posting a link to the People.com article (the site was the first to report the news).

"It's out there! But I am in the process of beating this!," the mother of two wrote.

Fans have also extended their best wishes on the social media site, posting inspirational messages such as, "you will overcome this curveball, Jen" and "go kick cancers butt!!!"

TLC is also asking people to send their love and kind thoughts on Twitter using the hashtag #getwelljen.

In an interview with People earlier this year, Arnold, who suffered a miscarriage via surrogate in 2011, opened up about staying strong in times of trouble.

"For a lot of people, loss tears them apart," she said. "In general, we are pretty tough people. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have the wonderful life I have. We are good at putting things in perspective because of our life experiences. I am not a person to give up when something is important. We feel so lucky to be parents."
