Rihanna declared that fashion "rules are meant to be broken" when accepting a Fashion Icon award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. "Fashion has just been an outlet for me to express myself," she said. Video courtesy of the CFDA.
Talk about too hot for Instagram.
Rihanna's glittering outfit she wore to the 2014 CFDA Awards definitely would not pass the Instagram rules of what constitutes "acceptable content." Not by a long shot.
When it comes to working sheer ensembles on the red carpet, this ain't Rihanna's first rodeo. The 26-year-old singer has bared it all before, but Monday night she brought it big time.
The beauty stepped out in a glittering, completely sheer fishnet slip dress that exposed her breasts and nude G-string underwear. She accessorized with matching sheer elbow-length gloves.
Really the only thing covered up about Rihanna's look was her hair--which she wore wrapped up in a metallic scarf.
And in case you're worried about Rihanna shivering her way through the night--don't stress, she thought it through. She brought along a fur stole, which she posed with strategically on the red carpet, using it to cover her chest area.
Rihanna's outfit was custom made by designer Adam Selman and featured 216,000 Swarovski crystals.
Rihanna was awarded the Fashion Icon Award for pushing the envelope, and last night wasn't proof that she is utterly fearless when it comes to fashion, we don't know what is.
