Comedian Gallagher Has Another Heart Attack

The comic who became famous for his watermelon-smashing is awake and resting in the hospital

Just after he got out of the hospital for a heart attack, the comedian Gallagher is back in another hospital with another one.

The 65-year-old comic, best known for smashing watermelons on stage, was taken by his son to a hospital in Sedona, Ariz., on Sunday because he wasn't feeling well.

There, he had a minor heart attack — just days after he left a Texas hospital for another heart attack.

During that first hospital stint, Gallagher was put in a medically induced coma and had stents in his heart replaced. He had collapsed March 14 at a bar in Texas with what CNN called his third major heart attack.

Gallagher told CNN just before his most recent heart attack that he was suspending his touring plans to accomodate his health problems.

But he seemed still to have big plans for his comedy career in other areas — plans his rep told E! Online she hoped the comic would reconsider.

"Gallagher doesn't like people telling him what to do, but he just needs to rest. We're just praying he'll listen," she said.
