The Chicago Board of Elections on Tuesday rejected the challenger who tried to get Che "Rhymefest" Smith off the ballot.
The 20th Ward aldermanic candidate, best known as a rapper and protégé of Kayne West -- won a Grammy can take his hip hop to the campaign trail.
The board said Smith, who announced his candidacy in October, was a resident of the 20th Ward for more than one year.
No word if the challenger will appeal the ruling to the circuit court.
