Prominent Democratic politician and Iraqi War veteran Tammy Duckworth (left) competes during the marathon.
Rahm Emanuel may have completed a sprint triathlon here in Chicago. But the mayor hasn't got nothing on congressional hopeful Tammy Duckworth as far as athletics.
Duckworth, who's running for congress in the 8th District -- currently held by Representative Joe Walsh -- will compete in her third Chicago Marathon this October. She plans to run with more than 20 "wounded warriors."
The Iraq war veteran, who lost her legs after an RPG attack, will use a hand-crank bike to complete the 26.2 mile event.
This is the 3rd consecutive marathon in which she's competed.
