Totally Awesome '80s 5k Hits Chicago




    The son of Robert F. Kennedy has been charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly clashing with two nurses who tried to stop him from taking his 2-day-old baby boy from a Westchester maternity unit. Douglas Kennedy and his wife called the charges "absurd" and said the nurses were in the wrong. Jonathan Dienst reports.     Tease your hair, throw on some leg warmers or neon gear and go back in time for the "Totally Awesome '80s 5k."

    The race will be held on throwback Thursday June 5 at Grant Park at 6:30 p.m.

    DJs will be playing totally rad '80s tunes and participants are encouraged to run, walk, dance or skip the course.

    Despite the light-heartedness of the event, organizers say it is a USATF-certified course and chip timed.

    Registration is $40 right up until June 4.

    It's sure to be a radical good time.
