Weekend Watch List: TIMBERGAGA

Welcome to Watch List, where we identify five things on TV to watch while you stay at home and prepare for the Rapture. Got your ticket to Heaven? Got a bottle of water? Something to read in line at St. Peter’s gate? Gotta be ready for these things, you know. LET’S GO!

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE – 11:30PM Saturday (NBC) They didn’t skimp on big-name talent for tomorrow night’s season finale. Your host is Justin Timberlake, who belongs in the pantheon of Excellent SNL Hosts. And while Timberlake would have also made a fine musical guest, he cedes that honor to Lady Gaga, who should really release her freakin’ album already. If you’re lucky, perhaps Timberlake will end up sharing the stage with Gaga for a duet, which would cause every woman and every gay man in America to squeal with delight. And Timberlake is certain to conspire with Andy Samberg for a digital short you will watch repeatedly all through next week, until everyone at your office ruins it by quoting it through Christmas. ANTICIPATION: TIMBERGAGA!

CELEBRITY APPRENTICE – 9:00PM Sunday (NBC) Now that Donald Trump has now admitted that his sham presidential run was a sham presidential run, we can focus on the really important issues: namely, if Marlee Matlin can beat John Rich in the final challenge. I’m told Marlee is leading in all the polls, and that she’ll quit before the finale because that’s victory enough. ANTICIPATION: GO MARLEE!

2011 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS – 8:00PM Sunday (ABC) Performers include Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, OneRepublic, Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas, and more. It’s like attending a dream bar mitzvah. ANTICIPATION: MU$IC!

JESSE STONE: INNOCENTS LOST – 9:00PM Sunday (CBS) If music for 13-year-olds isn’t your thing, best you tune in to CBS for another installment of Tom Selleck’s hard-boiled detective TV movies. You can get your Selleck fix every week now thanks to “Blue Bloods,” so I’ll be interested to see if people still tune in for these movies, or if they stay away for fear of mustache overload. ANTICIPATION: SELLECK!

SINBAD AND THE MINOTAUR – 9:00PM Saturday (SyFy – an NBC/Universal network) According to Entertainment Weekly, this TV movie doesn’t have an actual minotaur in it. It’s just a really big bull. But there will be scimitars. And of all the curved swords out there, scimitars are easily my favorite. ANTICIPATION: BULLISH!
