Like all good Spielberg stories, "Falling Skies" will be both dark 'n' gritty and warm 'n' fuzzy.

Welcome to Watch List, where we identify five things on TV to watch while you stay at home and steadfastly avoid seeing “Green Lantern.” LET’S GO!

FALLING SKIES – 9:00PM Sunday (TNT) TNT’s big new expensive series has the backing of Steven Spielberg, who certainly knows a thing or two about fictionalized alien invasions. This time, you get the “War of the Worlds” angry aliens instead of the touchy-feely aliens of “ET” and “Close Encounters.” And hopefully, this show won’t have an ending as trite and stupid as “Worlds” had. The always-agreeable Noah Wyle is your headliner, as he tries to keep his sons alive as the aliens begin to take over the planet. And like AMC’s “Walking Dead,” this show hopes to take an overdone film premise and breathe new life into it by making it serialized. And the aliens are bad right away, which is an improvement from “V,” where you spent a zillion episodes waiting for everyone to figure out the aliens were bad when you knew it all along (a fatal flaw in the show). Early reviews are solid, so strap in and get your alien on. ANTICIPATION: HIGH!

OUTCASTS – 9:00PM Saturday (BBC America) And that’s not the end of the new alien shows. This BBC import is set in the year 2040 and is about a human colony on the distant planet of Carpathia. Oh sure. Human space colonies are only twenty-nine years away. Sure thing, overly optimistic producer people. ANTICIPATION: SPACEY!

RYAN & TATUM: THE O’NEALS – 10:00PM Sunday (OWN) Ryan O’Neal and his kid get their own reality show. Oh man! Oh God! Oh man! Oh God! ANTICIPATION: GOOD BAD OR POSSIBLY BAD GOOD!

MISS USA PAGEANT – 9:00PM Sunday (NBC) Hosted by Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic, with sideline commentary by Kelly Osbourne. Seriously? That’s the best we could do for these poor girls? They have to go parading around in a swimsuit being judged and we can’t even get LL Cool J to be a co-host? ANTICIPATION: SHALLOW!

THE KILLING – 10:00PM Sunday (AMC) Season finale. If they don’t reveal the killer, I burn Veena Sud’s house down. ANTICIPATION: NO KILLER LEAVES HIS EMAIL OPEN LIKE THAT!
