Curly? Check. Larry? Check. Moe? Moe? Moe....?

Sean Hayes, best known for playing Jack on "Will & Grace," has been cast as the red-headed Stooge Larry Fine for the Farrelly Brothers' "The Three Stooges," reported Deadline. Hayes joins "Mad TV" alum Will Sasso, who's been cast as Curly.

During readings for the role, Hayes showed an ability to play "a lovable simpleton," but for most viewers it my be difficult to get past Hayes' over-the-top, hyper-flamboyant persona as Jack.

This is not to take anything away from Hayes and Sasso, who have been doing solid work for years, but this project had a lot more allure when names like Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro were floating around. For a while it seemed as though the Farrellys had something really intense brewing. Now it looks like they're just making a "The Three Stooges" cover band.

Just for laughs, here's "The Curly Shuffle," which inexplicably reached #15 on the Billboard charts in 1984.
