Blackhawks' Trevor Daley Traded to Penguins for Rob Scuderi

The Chicago Blackhawks made a move to shake up their blue line and free up some salary cap room on Monday, trading defenseman Trevor Daley to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenseman Rob Scuderi.

Daley, whom the Blackhawks acquired in a trade with the Dallas Stars that sent Patrick Sharp to the Lone Star State this summer, struggled to find his form with the team, and also missed time because of a neck injury in recent weeks.

The trade will give the Blackhawks a little over $2 million in salary cap space this season and will also free up over $3 million next season, as Scuderi will hit free agency following the 2015-16 campaign.

Scuderi has four assists so far this season with the Penguins, and the veteran blue liner will look to add some stability to the back end for Chicago.
