Police Looking for North Side Rapist

Chicago police are working with a woman to develop a sketch of the man who she said raped her earlier this week as she was walking to a CTA Blue Line station, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The 18-year-old woman was raped early Monday in the Bucktown neighborhood as she was walking north on Western Avenue to the Western stop on the Blue Line,  Police Officer Laura Kubiak to the Tribune. 
 
On Thursday, police issued a community alert in the area. It reads:

Be aware of a criminal sexual assault which occurred on the 2300 block of W. Moffat on Feb. 2, 2009.

The offender approached the victim from behind and escorted her into a gangway where he assaulted her. Please pay special attention to the area.

The alert describes the offender as, "Male, black, approximately 28 years of age. 5-feet 6-inches to 5-feet 7-inches tall, 180-200 pounds, brown eyes and hair, goatee, wearing a brown waist length coat."

Anyone with additional information, is asked to call 911 immediately.
