Man in 60s Hospitalized, After Break-in, Dog Shot

A man in his 60s was hospitalized Saturday after several people broke into his home in what appeared to be a robbery and shot his pit bill, police said.

Just after midnight, police said several men knocked on the door of the Douglas Park man's home, forced their way in and shot the dog.

The man is in critical condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Police are investigating the crime.
