A Peek Inside: CakeStyle

CakeStyle is one of those space-age startups that seems so obvious in hindsight: After giving CakeStyle your fit and wardrobe needs, ladies can receive a box of hand-selected outfits in the mail. Anything they don't want can be sent back (the shipping is free), as are the discussions with stylists to figure out what might be a better fit -- literally.

Oh, and there's also a video that comes with each shipment explaining how to wear each look. All in all, it's a pretty nifty business located right here in Chicago that also serves clients everywhere. And here's a look at the Loop-based company. Enjoy!

David Wolinsky is a freelance writer and a lifelong Chicagoan. In addition to currently serving as an interviewer-writer for Adult Swim, he's also a comedy-writing instructor for Second City. He was the Chicago city editor for The Onion A.V. Club where he provided in-depth daily coverage of this city's bustling arts/entertainment scene for half a decade. When not playing video games for work he's thinking of dashing out to Chicago Diner, Pizano's, or Yummy Yummy. His first career aspirations were to be a game-show host.
