Running back Matt Forte #22 of the Chicago Bears runs past linebacker Dan Connor #55 of the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on October 10, 2010 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Chicago Bears rode a dominant running performance by Matt Forte to a 17-3 halftime lead over the Carolina Panthers.
Forte scored two times on rushing plays, with one coming on a 68-yard scrambled. He's tallied 131 yards so far. .
The performance was necessary as quarterback Todd Collins, the 38-year-old backup starting in place of injured Jay Cutler, has not looked good. He's 5 of 11 for 26 yards with three interceptions.
Thanks to a consistent run game, some electrifying special teams plays and a stout defense led in spectacular fashion by Julius Peppers - who had a nifty tipped pass for an interception early- the Bears look poised for a Giant bounce back.
