It’s been a hot summer in the Chicago area so far but that could soon change.
According to records, the summer has already seen 15 days of 90 degrees or more. That number is well above-average considering the area typically records six days or less by this time.
Of the 15 days reaching 90 degrees or more so far, seven fell in July alone.
But the second half of July could bring a shift in temperatures.
Below-average temperatures are likely as the jetstream dips south, bringing cooler air to several states, including Illinois.
