Chicago's Top Doc Anticipates City Will Enter Substantial COVID Transmission Category ‘Very Shortly'

Multiple counties in the Chicago area and across Illinois are seeing “substantial” or “high” community transmission of COVID-19, placing them in the categories in which fully vaccinated people should resume wearing a mask indoors. Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said she anticipates Chicago to also move into the substantial category “very shortly.”
