The Hot New Holiday Party Drink? Punch Bowls!

Rebar Serves Up Contemporary Versions of Cocktail Party Staple

If the idea of a holiday punch bowl immediately brings you back to Grandma's fruit cocktail surprise, here's a newsflash: Punch bowls are back, baby! Especially at Rebar, the chic lounge in the Trump International Hotel & Tower, where sophisticated spins on the '70s party staple are gaining in popularity and garnering attention for the relic of cocktail soirees past.

Rebar introduced its punch bowl recipes when it opened this past spring, but the holiday season seems made for the interactive treat. The "Winter Magic" punch, which is served tableside in a warm crock, has recently been added to Rebar's cocktail list. The concoction includes brandy, red wine, cinnamon sticks, cloves, oranges and cognac-marinated cherries, which are placed at the bottom of each glass as the steamy beverage is ladled over them. In a word: yum.

Rebar's punch bowls are $95 and serve up to four people. The cocktails are also available by the glass for $13.
