World Cup Day 5 in Photos

Day 5 of the 2022 World Cup saw Breel Embolo help Switzerland edge past Cameroon to win 1-0 in their Group G match at the Al Janoub Stadium.

Later, Group H. kicked off with a goalless draw between Uruguay and South Korea.

Portugal and Ghana played next, providing the day's liveliest game in a five-goal nail-biter that saw Portugal inch past Ghana for a 3-2 win. Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored in his fifth World Cup goal with a penalty kick, making him the first male player to pull off the feat and joining Marta of Brazil as the only soccer players to do it.

In the last game of the day, forward Richarlison for Brazil scored one of the most impressive goals of the World Cup so far, leading his team to a 2-0 victory over Serbia.
