Marisnick leaves game vs. Pirates with apparent injury originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
Cubs center fielder Jake Marisnick left the game against the Pirates early Sunday, appearing to have sustained a lower body injury.
With two outs in the first inning and the Pirates already leading 1-0, Pittsburgh switch-hitter Wilmer Difo hit a line drive into left-center field. Marisnick tried to run it down in the gap but fell several feet from where the ball landed.
An athletic trainer jogged out to check on Marisnick immediately following the play. Marisnick limped off the field.
