Anthony Rizzo Joins Joe DiMaggio in Yankees History

Anthony Rizzo joins Joe DiMaggio in Yankees history originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

It took all of two games for former Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo to put his name next a Yankee great in the history books.

Rizzo hit his second home run Saturday in as many games with the Yankees following Thursday's trade from the Cubs.

In doing so, he accomplished something only Joe DiMaggio previously had with New York.

Rizzo and DiMaggio are the only players all-time with five or more runs scored and two or more RBIs in their first two games with the Yankees.

The former Cub got all of the home run, too, crushing it inside the foul pole against the Marlins.

Rizzo was heating up at the plate before the trade. He's hit five home runs this week, three with the Cubs.
