A federal judge has granted a request by owners of two Wrigley rooftop clubs to withdraw their lawsuit against the city of Chicago and its Landmarks Commission over the renovation of Wrigley Field.
A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against the Chicago Cubs filed by two nearby businesses, The Chicago Tribune reported.
All nine counts in the suit brought forth by Skybox on Sheffield and Lakeview Baseball club were dismissed by U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendall, according to the Tribune. The businesses claimed the Cubs breached their revenue-sharing agreement, and that large-scale video boards would block their patrons' views of Chicago Cubs baseball games.
"We are very pleased with the court's decisive ruling today," Kenney said in a statement, according to the Tribune. "Judge Kendall's opinion confirms the bleacher expansion does not violate our rooftop agreements, as we have maintained from the outset. We also appreciate that with this chapter closed, everyone's focus can continue to be on the field, where it belongs."
Lawyers for Right Field Rooftops LLC couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
