Indians Fan Creates Wedding Registry for Joe Buck and Kyle Schwarber

Plenty of people were impressed by Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber’s return to Major League Baseball in time to bat in the first two games of the World Series after tearing his ACL in April. Broadcaster Joe Buck was among those to express his admiration, and Cleveland Indians fans certainly took notice.

Following the Cubs’ 5-1 victory over the Indians in Game 2 on Wednesday, first the memes appeared. [[399192611, C]]

While most Indians fans chimed in on Twitter with some good-natured Photoshop, one particularly dedicated fan took it a bit further, and created a wedding registry for Buck and the Cubs outfielder.

With a date set for March 4, 2017, the Bed Bath & Beyond wish list includes more than 200 household items. Among them are a flatware set, various wine glasses, kitchen appliances, and a Scrabble game for good measure.

Indians fans are no strangers to wedding registries, as they found pitcher Ryan Merritt’s list, grateful for his ALCS performance that helped lead them to the World Series, and proceeded to purchase every item he and his fiancée listed.

As for Joe Buck, he hasn’t always held the favor of Cubs fans either. He drew the North Side ire for his apparent adoration for Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner and Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw, both of whom the Cubs faced in the NLDS and NLCS, respectively.

While Cubs fans may have complained about Buck then, they didn’t quite go so far as to petition for his replacement – one Indians fan from suburban Westchester took care of that, starting a Change.org petition to swap Buck for Bob Uecker that has garnered more than 55,000 signatures in a week.
