Chicago Cubs infielder David Bote hammered a game-winning home run into the Wrigley Field bleachers Friday, and he joined an exclusive club in the process.
Bote, who now has five home runs this season, has certainly exhibited a flair for the dramatic recently, as he now has two walk-off home runs in less than two weeks after he launched the dinger against the Cincinnati Reds.
According to Stats Inc., Bote is just the third Cubs rookie in history to have multiple walk-off home runs in the same season.
Bote's other walk-off came earlier this month, when he hit a walk-off grand slam against the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field.
The rookie is also joined in the club by Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, who accomplished the feat in 2015. His second walk-off home run came against the Cleveland Indians, three years to the date of Bote's heroics.
Former Cubs great Gabby Hartnett also hit multiple walk-offs in the same season, doing it in 1923.
