Frank Thomas Mending Relationship With White Sox

Mr. Williams, tear down this wall

It wasn't so long ago that Frank Thomas and Kenny Williams hated each other. Remember that? Williams didn't re-sign Thomas after the 2005 World Series year. Williams had good reason, seeing as Thomas was well past his prime. But Williams did re-sign almost everybody else from the 2005 team, and Frank Thomas -- also with good reason, given his legendary years with the club -- didn't appreciate that too much.

So the spitefulness began. Thomas said Williams and Ozzie Guillen lacked respect for his accomplishments. In response, Kenny Williams brought the ether:

"He’s an idiot. He’s selfish. That’s why we don’t miss him," Williams told reporters. "We don’t miss him, by the way. If you go out there and ask any one of my players or staff members, we don’t miss him. We don’t miss his attitude. We don’t miss the whining. We don’t miss it. Good riddance. See you later."

Ouch. Since then, club and player have been at odds with each other, but for White Sox fans interested in honoring Thomas's long and illustrious legacy with the team -- he's the best hitter in White Sox history, and he's never once been mentioned as a suspected steroids user -- get some good news today. It appears Kenny and Ozzie and Frank are becoming friends again. At the very least, they're not attempting to claw each other's faces off. Which would be a really fun fight to watch, now that we think about it.
