Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Chicago Cubs catcher Geovany Soto left Friday's 5-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth inning with a hand injury.
Soto, the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award in the National League, fouled off a pitch off his left hand and was replaced in the batter's box by Koyie Hill, who struck out.
X-rays were negative of the catcher's hand and he is not expected to miss any time.
Soto is hitting .285 with 23 homers and 86 RBI this season.
